BRIEF ON Mrs. Kehinde Olubunmi Ogunbote
Mrs. Kehinde Olubunmi Ogunbote was born at Ibadan on 22nd March, 1967 to Chief and Evang. (Mrs.) W. O. Mustapha of Oke-Eri, Ijebu North East Local Government of Ogun State. She attended Ibadan Grammar School and St. Theresa’s College both in Ibadan, where she obtained the West African School Certificate (WASC) and Higher School Certificate (HSC)respectively in 1984 and 1986. She was awarded a bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies at Ogun State University, Ago-Iwoye (now OlabisiOnabanjo University) in 1989, and she received her Master of Library Science Degree from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State in 1992. Mrs. Ogunbote is currently working for her Doctoral Degree in the University of Ibadan.
She started her professional career at OlabisiOnabanjo University Library, Ago-Iwoye, where she held several professional and senior administrative positions which include Cataloguer (1992-1998), Acquisitions Librarian and Head of Division (1998-2003) and Senior Librarian and Readers’ Services Librarian (2003-2009).
It stands to her credit that she provided purposeful and committed leadership which paved way for the total transformation and re-branding of the Readers’ Services Division of OlabisiOnabanjo University Library. Mrs. Ogunbote is a Chartered Librarian, who is currently the Acting Polytechnic Librarian of Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo. She has over twenty years of Post graduate research and working experience in the field of Knowledge Sharing, Library Acquisitions, Information Retrieval and Library and RecordsManagement.
Mrs. Ogunbote has authored several academic publications in reputed national and international academic and professional journals. She has also attended several conferences, workshops and seminars in the area of Library and Information Sciences, Management and Administration.
Mrs. Ogunbote has served the Polytechnic in various capacities which included Chairperson, Admissions Committee, Central Result Computation Committee, Staff Professional Ethics and Discipline Committee, Academic Ceremonies Committee, Examination Task Force Committee, Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies and member Polytechnic Management, Academic Board, Appointments and Promotion Committee to mention but few.
Currently, she is a member of Registered Professional bodies such as:Nigerian Library Association, Society of Nigeria Archivist, Circle of concerned Women Theologians, Reading Association of Nigeria, Associate of Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria and Nigerian School Library Association. To the glory of God she is happily married to Olugbenga Ogunbote (Big Daddy), with wonderful and God fearing children.
